SK1 From Mars by Samples From Mars (@KVRAudio Product Listing): Lo Fi Tones From Your Favorite Childhood Keyboard. The SK-1 is a cheap and un-assuming 8-bit synthesizer and keyboard sampler from the mid 80s. It's super gritty and lo fi in almost every regard — from the frequency-squeezing mic input to the uber-funky PCM based sampler. Our primary concerns when sampling the SK were to expand. Drum Loops, Drum One Shots, Basses, Brass & Woodwind, FX, Synths, Vocals. Cashew 1 7 1. Links update: Get Every Samples From Mars Product in Existence All the Samples From Mars is the culmination of 5 years (and tens of thousands of hours) of sampling our favorite, most inspiring (and often vintage) hardware drum machines, synthesizers, and more, through some of the best recording equipment in the world.
Not many people multi-sample synths to tape – it’s time consuming and can leave a pretty big dent in your wallet. In fact, each synth patch we recorded took up about 1,250 ft of tape! (around 10 – 15 minutes).
The results sound absolutely incredible! Who cares about time and money when you have sweet, sweet analog synths recorded to a classic reel to reel machine? These patches are truly special. Warm, fat, gritty and pretty.
